We’re Committed to Innovation
Who we are
What started in 2014 as a small social gathering of KU Leuven alumni quickly grew into an endeavor with grander intentions. Based out of California, Amici Lovanienses now has an ever-growing network of both alumni and non alumni members. Through philanthropic funding, we advocate for progressive educational, scientific, and literary projects on a transatlantic scale.
What we do
Our work is guided by three main pillars: entrepreneurship, innovation, and an international perspective. We believe that collaboration plays a big part in furthering innovation. To that end, we build bridges between the pioneering network of KU Leuven and its Silicon Valley-based counterparts and the wider US.
We bring young Belgian entrepreneurs opportunities to experience the Silicon Valley spirit through start up and internship programs.
Entrepreneurship
We help fund cutting edge scientific research. We believe that collaboration plays an important part in furthering innovation.
Innovation
International Perspective
We build bridges between pioneering networks in Silicon Valley, the wider US and European partners including KU Leuven.
We help fund cutting-edge scientific research to support advances in the medical field — such as Mission Lucidity, a multidisciplinary partnership aimed at decoding dementia and neurodegeneration. We create mutually beneficial initiatives including student exchange programs with renowned US universities, and we bring young Belgian entrepreneurs opportunities to experience the Silicon Valley spirit through start-up and intern programs. And we fund fresh and unique literary projects.
Amici Lovanienses also hosts regular free events, where guests can learn about the programs we endorse. Our events are open to the public and we encourage members to bring a friend.
